Communion photographs have been a long standing tradition. This may be the first time a family have had a photographer take photographs for them as a family since their wedding.

Every Catholic family have Communion photographs going back to our grandparents time. The photographs show the fashions of the era and were always professionally shot and printed in photography studios. They were treasured as family heirlooms to be passed down to the next generations. Framed and shared with godparents as well as grandparents, and for many of us, it was our first experience with a photographer.

Nowadays, wonderful smart phone technology has meant everyone has access to a camera conveniently located in their pocket. The quality has greatly improved in recent years, however they still lack ability where low light is an issue. This really only becomes noticeable on the day you decide to print out your captures from that special day.

For us, at Nua Photography we like to take a fresh a quirky approach to Communion portraiture. We love to add a little sparkle as well as fun. There isn’t the ordeal of marching everyone into the photography studio and hoping everyone has kept their outfits spotless. Instead we arrive at your house or venue, catch the firm favourites, and along the way capture your kid’s real character and the buzz of their big day.

We supply you with a selection of images on a usb key, which is perfect for you to print from an online lab or chemist. We can of course supply prints at a later stage, or order and frame on your behalf .
